In Other’s Oddities, Bryan Cunningham turns his attention to the objects and images we inherit, collect, discard, and assign meaning to.

Working with found objects, repurposed materials, painting, and assemblage, Cunningham pulls from the visual language of American advertising, folk traditions, religious imagery, sideshow culture, and the everyday debris of popular life. Objects arrive in his work with histories already attached to them, then take on new and often stranger associations through their placement alongside one another.

Part collection, part curiosity cabinet, Other’s Oddities considers the afterlives of objects and the stories we continue to attach to them long after their original purpose has dissipated.
