Andrés Basurto is a Mexican painter and sculptor known for his intricately constructed glass sculptures. Working with fragments of reclaimed beer and wine bottles, he assembles broken glass into sculptural forms, most notably the human skull.

Born in Mexico City, Basurto studied at the Universidad Iberoamericana before continuing his education at the School of Visual Arts in New York. His practice spans painting and sculpture, with a longstanding focus on reclaimed materials and the physical process of breaking, assembling, and rebuilding. His glass works are constructed by hand from hundreds of individual fragments, allowing the color, transparency, and irregular edges of the original bottles to remain visible.
